Ana Cristina Maldonado is an accomplished attorney, mediator, and arbitrator with extensive experience in program management, facilitation, education, and training. Over her career, she has successfully mediated over 2,000 cases. Ms. Maldonado is fluent in English and Spanish, proficient in Portuguese, and has basic knowledge of French.
Ms. Maldonado is the Chair Elect of The Florida Bar’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Section (2023-2024) and chairs the Section’s Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee. In 2023, she was appointed to the Mediator Ethics Advisory Committee (MEAC) by the Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court. Additionally, she co-chairs the ethics committee and serves as a regional representative for the Women in Dispute Resolution (WIDR) subcommittee of the American Bar Association’s ADR Section.
Ana Cristina holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Amherst College, a Master’s in Conflict Resolution from George Mason University, and a J.D. from St. Thomas University. She is certified by the Florida Supreme Court in Circuit Civil, County, Dependency, and Family mediation and is also qualified as an arbitrator. She has trained over 400 new mediators in Circuit Civil, Family, and Dependency mediation.
From 2012 to 2023, Ana Cristina mediated full-time with the 15th Judicial Circuit ADR Office, her own mediation firm, and as a panel member of Upchurch Watson White and Max. She recently joined the faculty at Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law as the Director of Externships.
